which part is confusing? if you pick up the pet in your home, a door will appear, then if you drop it in the door you can select which job to assign it. you can keep track of the job status by the little blue clock icon in top right, and when the job is complete you can collect the reward (and your petz will come home).

I'll also add in that you can get double rewards by watching ads and you can speed up the timer by paying diamonds (or occasionally watching an ad as well).
